Our packaging
approach
First and foremost
The way our pot is grown is designed to minimize negative environmental effects in terms of energy use, chemicals and toxics that end up in the environment.
No non organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides means there’s no chance of any toxic residue remaining on the cannabis we sell.
Keeping our weed fresh and airtight without using plastic is challenging. Thanks to the state of Vermont for helping us to become 99% plastic free.
We are not yet where we want to be.
We will continue to work on it and we will do better.
We are opposed to plastic because:
Its creation produces toxic by-products.
It is based on the oil economy which leads to
Global warming
Over $100 Billion of annual “peacetime” Pentagon expenditures to protect oil supplies and shipping lanes
International destabilization
Supporting despotic governments
Wars
It never degrades.
Even “biodegradable plastic” just breaks down into little particles that make animals sick.
It has a tendency to leach chemicals into whatever is around or in it.
It pollutes our entire environment.
We do not use mylar child resistant pouches. Instead we have made the primary containers themselves childproof and airtight.
We have not been able to find domestic sources for CR tins or CR glass. We understand that shipping stuff from China is not environmentally sound.
We are hoping to find better alternatives.
